Who I Follow

My Weekend 9/26/14 - 9/28/14

I had the BEST weekend over!

The week was pretty rough and I had been looking forward to this trip for about a month. I knew it was going to be great, but I did not expect it to be as epic as it was!

Charlene and Michelle met me at my condo and then I drove us to Alyeska. Sean washed his car and filled up the gas tank for us. :) We checked into the hotel and then went swimming. It’s my favorite pool! We met up with Ederlee and ate a yummy dinner at Chair 5. When we got back to the hotel we got some coffee and sat outside by the fire while the sun went down, so beautiful!

We got back to the room and Ederlee stayed for just a little bit then drove home because she had to work in the morning. We drank, snacked, and shared many laughs and heart to heart talk! ❤️ When I was a teen my parents were super strict and I wasn’t allowed to spend the night at anyone’s house! Lol. It was the situation for them. Now we are older and can do whatever we want and splurge once in a while! Hahaha

Apparently we were so loud that someone complained and security knocked on our door… Oops! We didn’t go to sleep until past 3:30am! Which is late in my book since I’m usually in bed at 1 or 2 on the weekends, haha. We woke up at 9ish and Charlene and I had every intention of going swimming again with Michelle but we felt so hungover so we slept in a little longer. After we were ready and checked out we went up the tram since we got free tickets. It’s always a hit or miss going up there weather wise but it was nice and sunny!

Then we ate at Jack Sprat. It was my first time there. And it was my first time trying bibimbap, believe it or not! And also my first time trying yam fries. I definitely look forward eating there again. We drove home and we all felt a little sad that our perfect girlfriends trip was officially over. :( We made a pact that we should do a nice weekend getaway at least once a year!

When I got back into town Sean and I had a late lunch with Cody and Genevieve at City Diner. We talked about our Vegas plans, I can’t believe how fast it’s coming up! When we got home I finished up my homework. I can’t believe I am halfway through the session. I hope to take one more class this year and then I’ll only have 6 more left to take next year.

Jenn, Sean and I watched season 4’s first episode of Once Upon A Time! It was the perfect ending for my epic weekend :)

ice cream!

My latest craze is Pistachio Pistachio by Ben & Jerry’s. Nom nom nom!

Thank you for my Vacation and Christmas shopping fund!

4 years ago Sean & I officially became homeowners! ❤️ I love our home and all the memories we’ve created in it with our family and friends. I’ll never forget walking in to this condo during an open house and having that “This is the ONE” feeling. I look forward to upgrading to a single family home in the near future! 🏡

So it bothers me when someone feels the need to make a big deal that I mention the word Christmas before Halloween or Thanksgiving (You obviously don’t know me well enough if you don’t know that I LOVE those holidays too). Why do feel the need to bash something that makes me happy just because it bothers you?

I am so stoked about our Vegas trip next month. We’ve got our hotels booked (starting off at The Mirage, staying a night in Arizona at my cousin’s, won a free night at Circus Circus, won a free night at Luxor, and then staying at New York New York) and our car rental taken care of. We decided to rent a convertible, because why not?! I’ve never rode in one before and Sean is tired of renting SUVs, LOL.

I promised him that I will try not to plan too many things for us to do while we’re on our vacation. We hardly ever relax on our trips (We did the most relaxing on the Disney Cruise… Even on our honeymoon in Hawaii we were busy being tourists!) so I will try to allow myself to some down time.

I just love doing touristy things, even if I’ve been there multiple times it never ceases to amaze me. Believe it or not, of all the times I’ve been to Vegas I’ve never stepped foot in a night club… And I’ve been to Vegas 4 times since I turned 21. I like shopping, going to attractions, taking pictures, and dining! Lol

I always feel like when I get out of state that I have to do as much as I can since I feel so deprived sometimes living in Alaska. =P

My newest Disney piece from Hallmark! I’m glad they finally have new editions out :)

My unintentional Disney bound outfit :)

So yesterday was the Jurassic Park drive-in event at the new Alaska Airlines Center. I knew it was going to be busy - I wish I could have gotten off work a little bit early but I was training. I got home from work at about 5:15 and found that Sean had a bag packed with drinks and snacks already - how thoughtful! We got there at about 5:45, and it was already packed and a long ass line to get in :( Needless to say, I was pretty bummed. Bummed because I had been looking forward to it, bummed because I’ve always wanted to see a movie at a drive-in, and bummed because, most of all - Jurassic Park is my all time favorite movie!

He took me to dinner at VIP. It had been a long time since we dined there, when we crave Korean we always go to Tofu House nowadays. I think we’ll have to start eating there again more often, I forgot that they give out the most banchan. We shopped at Target and then invited Mark, Vicky, Jeremy, and the kids over for some drinks and watched Jurassic Park in the comfort of our home.

What I thought was going to be an uneventful night after my disappointment, turned out to be enjoyable and memorable. Thanks to my man for always finding alternatives! I love how you always remind me of the positive side for any situation.
